UPDATE 5
I think I've conquered the wary buttons - I want to find out how to make them less 'out there' than they are now - they are asking for something like a bottom border :)

UPDATE 4
Still working on fixing this design. Not only people using IE are having problems, but if you're screenresolution is different from mine, it can cause problems too.

UPDATE 3
I have a feeling this stylesheets float-s are causing the problems. No idea yet if I have the patience this weekend to solve the problem when using a computer that keeps freezing frequently.

UPDATE 2
it seems that computers running on XP are not showing my website correctly
just check out these two screenshots I took on my work computer,
IE-XP screenshot
Firefox-XP screenshot

UPDATE
All's well again :)

I like what you have done with the comments :)
Shows me the layout/css works ok.

1 thingie tho:
The buttons on top are located to much to the left.
"home" shows up in the sidespacer

Looks like at least most of the problems are solved now (although those home/colophon/rss feed buttons flicker when you mouse over them)! Looks very nice!! :)

Jennifer, the buttons are css-styled mouse-overs (found the trick at <a href="http://veerle.duoh.com/comments.php?id=373_0_2_0_C" title="Veerle's blog - Comments">Veerle's Blog</a>
