| On: 26-03-2007 17:48 The Carta Marina (latin: the book of the sea) is the earliest map over the Nordic countries containing details and placenames. It is in woodcut with nine blocks giving total dimensions of 1.70×1.25 m (height×width) and was created by the Swede Olaus Magnus (1490–1557), temporarily on diplomatic visit in Rome for the Swedish government. However, this situation turned out to be permanent (because his brother Johannes Magnus got in a religious feud with Gustav I of Sweden). Style Is Not Missingcategory: MvBlogNo, your eyes are not deceiving you. (At least, for those of you who do not use cookies on my site, and who don't see any colorful style) mvblog has a new style - "Basic" - which basically has nothing :)

| On: 18-03-2007 21:36 Gardeningcategory: ParamariboWith all this lovely Spring weather, the need to start on my garden was ever present. So, combined with the gifts I received from my work colleagues and some new stuff, I have managed to do some serious gardening. I think this was the first time in a loooooooooooong time that I actually mucked in the dirt. Last time around must have been about 20 years ago, if not longer! Of course, I had to make some photos of the amazing results: Gardening @ flickr (and now I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that all the bulbs I planted will actually appear)

I'll even try to bring home my work keyboard (which is technically my own). Grossed out by all these vivid descriptions and photos, my keyboards will be shiny and clean again! Anyone interested in a step-by-step photo session?
