Vrienden van Amstel - Live

category:  Moi

A photo on Flickr A photo on Flickr A photo on Flickr

Had a great time last night at the Vrienden van Amstel in Ahoy, Rotterdam.

It's difficult to explain what it entails exactly, but if you're from the Netherlands you'll know what I'm talking about. I took some photos with my telephone and their quality is not all that bad!

In the category "Leonieke Has A New Gaget", I present you the Sony-Ericsson W900i (white):

I'm having great fun making my own ringtones, but I have yet to figure out how to send my photos to my flickr account. I have a feeling my preferences for Email with this phone are not quite alright!

coming soon: MvBlog 1.5

category:  MvBlog

Everything has been a bit quiet lately here. This doesn't mean we did nothing in mvblog. Work has been done to implement most RFE tickets. All defect issues are resolved.

As of now, no new RFE type tickets will be accepted for 1.5 anymore. This gives our SVN users a week to test their setup. If no defects will be open by friday I will release mvblog 1.5
So do your work, get out there, and test test test.

New Category: Historical Posts

category:  Site News

Coming in the near future (probably with the launch of mvblog 1.5), I will have a nicely filled category Historical Posts.

Using the WayBackMachine, I am manually importing some of my posts saved on older blogs. Because I thought I had lost almost all of my entries, I used the WayBackMachine to see what was left. Almost all of my posts, and even some images have been saved for posterity :)

UPDATED - Historical Posts is now active!

Sub Rosa

Need to go out today too, but yesterday I took a few photos in that grey grey weather.

I'm uploading some of them on Flickr now, but this one (taken inside of course) has caught my eye.

Five Days No Work!

category:  Moi

Yay! Five days no work (read: until Monday).

After noticing the last few weeks that my 'elasticity' was slowly not returning, I decided this Monday that I would ask for some time off.

So - here I am, having a nice 'Friday' feeling on Tuesday.

What to do with all that time?

Let's see:

  • clean room/house/etc
  • go to hairdresser's
  • go to GP
  • have lunch with friend

That's about it.

(Of course, I'll be spending loads of time online too!)

Almost forgot: I'll be taking out my borrowed Canon EOS 300D too! ;)

MvBlog is coming along nicely

category:  MvBlog

While Michiel is staying up late to code, Sofie and I are enjoying the 'fruits' of his typing.

As you can see mvblog is becoming a full-fledged blog, and it is no longer a 'simple' tool.

5th Sentence ...

[via bartsspace]

  1. Grab the nearest book.
  2. Open the book to page 123.
  3. Find the fifth sentence.
  4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal/blog along with these instructions.
  5. Don't search around and look for the "coolest" book you can find. Do what’s actually next to you.

Learning new tricks

category:  Plato Computer

Thanks to the ever patient guidance of Michiel, I am continually learning about new tricks/programs on my computer.

This weekend I learned the basics of the following programs:

For those of you who know about *nix computers, you will realize that this is part of text-based computing.

Michiel has been trying to persuade me to use more text-based programs, but I never saw the need. Until I learned that at work, we will be using a webinterface of Microsoft's Sharepoint. This will mean more mousing and less shortcut keys.

And we all know that mousing equals RSI.

To avoid this, because I work with a computer not only at work, but at home as well (a lot!), I have decided to look into these text-based programs.

I have already learned that, although it is very different from mouse-based programs, I am enjoying the experience. Of course, without the help of Michiel, I would never have been able to use them as extensively as I am today - after only 3 days of using it!

If you want to learn more about these programs, click on the links behind them - one will be a direct link to the specific program, the other link will be for an easy and basic HowTo.

5 weird habits/facts of Leonieke

category:  List'sss

Ground Rules: The first player of this game starts with the topic '5 weird habits/facts of yourself' and people who get tagged need to write an entry about their 5 weird habits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next 5 2 people to be tagged and list their names.

[Tagged by both Darren and Ivette! Go figure!]

  1. I don't clean up my room often enough. Only clean up the mess when I really can't stand it anymore.
  2. Even though people think I am organized (at work), my RL is cluttered (see 1.)
  3. I'd rather cook my own food. Not because I do not like a lot of food (hate paprika's BTW), but because I like being in control when cooking. So when I'm helping someone prepare something I'd just rather do it myself. However, if people are good cooks (waves to Nancy), I don't feel like I need to 'take over' at all!
  4. I'm opinionated, but I can't always explain why I have a certain opinion. Not wanting to feel/look like a push-over, I'll try to make my point based on nothing.
  5. I postpone almost anything (see 1.)
I tag Michiel and my mom : if you read this, feel free to leave your list in the comments :)
